Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of Tide, an Android live-wallpaper app from Slumbering Thread Studios. By using Tide, you agree to them.

Using Tide

You may use Tide's Free tier without an account. Publishing, syncing your Library, and Pro features require an account in good standing.

Free Tier & Download Limits

The Free tier includes 5 community backdrop downloads per week. This limit exists to manage the hosting and bandwidth costs of serving video content, not to gate access to the app — local creation, trimming, saving, and applying your own backdrops is never limited, and anything you've already downloaded remains yours to use without counting against the limit again.

Subscriptions & Payments

Pro removes the watermark shown on applied backdrops and lifts the 5-per-week download limit. Publishing your own backdrops to the community is a Free-tier feature and is never gated behind a subscription. Pro plans are billed and managed via Google Play:

• Pro is available Monthly, Yearly, or as a one-time Lifetime purchase, billed through Google Play.
• Monthly and Yearly plans renew automatically until cancelled; cancel anytime from Google Play, effective at the end of the current period.
• Lifetime purchases are one-time and non-recurring.
• Refunds are handled per Google Play's refund policy.

Your Content

You keep ownership of the Backdrops you upload. Publishing one publicly grants Slumbering Thread Studios a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, reproduce, stream, and display that Backdrop within Tide, and to let other users download and apply it as a wallpaper on their devices. This license exists so the app can function. It ends when you remove the Backdrop — except for copies already downloaded by other users, which we have no way to retrieve.

You don't have to own a Backdrop to publish it, but you do have to have the right to share it. By publishing, you confirm that at least one of the following is true:

• You created it yourself, and it doesn't incorporate anyone else's work;
• You have permission or a license from the rights holder that covers distribution in an app like this one, including allowing end users to download and apply it; or
• It is in the public domain, or under a license (such as Creative Commons) whose terms permit this use — and you have followed that license's attribution requirements.

You also confirm that the Backdrop doesn't infringe anyone's copyright, trademark, or other rights. This includes recognizable characters, logos, and settings from films, games, anime, or other franchises: permission from the person who animated something is not permission from the owner of the character in it.

Where a Backdrop is based on someone else's work, credit the source using the attribution fields in the publish step. Credit is not a substitute for permission, but its absence is a signal we use during review.

Community Guidelines

Public uploads are reviewed before appearing in Browse or Discover. We may reject or remove content that is unlawful, infringing, sexually explicit, or otherwise harmful, and may suspend accounts that repeatedly violate these guidelines.

Zero Tolerance for Child Sexual Abuse Material

Tide has zero tolerance for content that sexualizes, exploits, or endangers minors in any way. Any account found uploading, sharing, or soliciting such content will be terminated immediately and permanently, without warning, and reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and other relevant law enforcement authorities as required by law.

Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to engage in any of the following prohibited behaviors:

• Uploading content you don't have the right to share. Content taken from wallpaper sites, stock libraries, or other apps is fine if you hold a licence or permission that covers distributing it this way — and is not fine without one, no matter how freely available it was. Crediting a source is not the same as having permission from it.
• Attempting to circumvent subscription checks or access controls.
• Using Tide to harass other users or distribute malicious files.

Copyright Complaints

If you believe content on Tide infringes your copyright, or depicts you in a sexual context without your consent, see our Report Content page for how to send a notice to our designated agent. We remove infringing or non-consensual material on receipt of a valid notice, and we terminate the accounts of repeat infringers.

Termination

You may stop using Tide at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

Disclaimers & Liability

Tide is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We don't guarantee Tide will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

Every public upload is pre-screened and personally reviewed before it appears in Browse or Discover, but no review process — automated or human — can catch everything with perfect accuracy. Content may occasionally pass review in error. Use of community content is at your own risk, and we encourage you to report anything that shouldn't be there using the in-app reporting tools.

Tide is designed to minimize impact on your device's battery and performance, including pausing playback when the screen is off, the device is in battery saver mode, or it's overheating. We don't guarantee any specific battery, performance, or thermal outcome, and are not liable for battery wear, device heat, or performance issues arising from your use of the app.

To the extent permitted by law, Slumbering Thread Studios and its founder are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising from your use of or inability to use Tide, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of Tide will not exceed the amount you paid us, if any, in the 12 months before the claim arose.

Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time and will update the revision date above when we do.
