Delete Your Account
Tide (app ID com.tide, published by Slumbering Thread Studios) lets you delete your account and its data at any time, from inside the app or by written request. Deletion is immediate and permanent — there is no recovery window and no way to restore a deleted account.
Delete From the App
This is the fastest route and needs no contact with us:
- Open Tide and sign in to the account you want removed.
- Tap the Settings icon in the top bar.
- Scroll to the Privacy & Account section and find Delete Account.
- Tap Delete and confirm. The account and the data listed below are removed right away.
Request Deletion Without the App
If you no longer have the app installed or can't sign in, contact us through Slumbering Thread Studios with the subject line Tide account deletion and the email address on the account. We verify ownership of that address before deleting anything, then complete the deletion within 30 days and confirm by email.
What Gets Deleted
- Your account credentials and sign-in record.
- Your profile: display name, username, badge tier, birthdate, and settings stored with the account.
- Every Backdrop you published, including the uploaded video files and posters behind them. They are removed from Browse and Discover and from our storage.
- Your likes and favorites, and the download records tied to your account.
What Is Not Deleted
- Backdrops saved on your own device. Your Library lives on the phone. Uninstalling Tide removes it; deleting the account does not reach onto your device.
- Aggregate counts. A Backdrop's total download count is not rolled back when an account is deleted — the number carries no identifying information.
- Crash diagnostics. Crash reports are anonymous and not linked to your account, so they cannot be located and removed by account. You can turn diagnostics off at any time under Settings → Send diagnostics.
- Records we must keep by law, such as purchase and tax records for subscriptions, retained only as long as the law requires.
- Google Play purchases. Deleting your Tide account does not cancel an active subscription — cancel that in the Play Store under Payments & subscriptions, before or after deleting.
