Report Content
This page covers two things: reporting sexual content — including content that depicts you without your consent — and reporting copyright infringement. Neither requires a Tide account or the app installed. Pick the section below that matches what you're reporting.
Report Sexual Content
Federal law (the TAKE IT DOWN Act) requires us to remove valid reports of nonconsensual intimate imagery within 48 hours, and to let anyone report it — not just Tide users. We go further than the law requires: we apply that same 48-hour standard to any report of sexual content on Tide, regardless of whether it's proven to be nonconsensual. If it's sexual content and you're telling us about it, we're not waiting to sort out the legal category before we look at it.
To help us find and review the content quickly, include as much of the following as you can:
- What the content shows and where it appears — a creator's username, a wallpaper title, or a description of what you saw and when.
- Whether you're the person depicted, or you're reporting on their behalf. If you're not either of those, we still review the report — this just isn't a filled-out "I'm the affected person" checkbox.
- An email address, if you're willing to share one — only used if we need more detail to locate the content. It's optional; you can report fully anonymously.
If you're signed into the Tide app, every Backdrop also has a one-tap report option that reaches the same review queue — that's the fastest route if you're already in the app. This form exists for everyone else.
Copyright & Takedown Policy
Slumbering Thread Studios respects intellectual property rights and expects everyone using Tide to do the same. Tide hosts Backdrops submitted by its users. Every public Backdrop is reviewed by a person before it appears in the app, but we can't always know where a work originated. If you believe a Backdrop infringes your copyright, tell us and we'll act on it.
Reporting Infringement
Send a written notice to our designated agent:
- Designated Agent: Slumbering Thread Copyright Manager
- Email: slumberingthread@gmail.com
- Phone: (920) 238-6617
- Mail: 2064 Mystic Hills Ter, Suamico, WI 54313
To be effective under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, your notice must include all of the following:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the copyrighted work you believe has been infringed.
- Identification of the material you are asking us to remove, with enough detail for us to locate it — a direct link to the Backdrop is ideal.
- Your name, address, telephone number, and email address.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or are authorized to act on the owner's behalf.
We will remove or disable access to material we determine to be infringing, and will notify the user who uploaded it. Please note that under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), knowingly misrepresenting that material is infringing may make you liable for damages, including costs and legal fees.
Counter-Notification
If your Backdrop was removed and you believe that was the result of a mistake or a misidentification, you may send a counter-notification to the same agent above, including:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the material that was removed and the location where it appeared before removal.
- A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, address, and telephone number.
- A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the judicial district in which your address is located — or, if your address is outside the United States, any judicial district in which Slumbering Thread Studios may be found — and that you will accept service of process from the person who filed the original notice or their agent.
We may restore the removed material after a statutory waiting period unless the original complainant notifies us that they have filed a court action seeking to restrain the allegedly infringing activity.
Repeat Infringers
We terminate the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe. Accounts subject to multiple valid takedown notices will be suspended or permanently terminated, and Backdrops they have published will be removed from the app. This policy is enforced in practice, not only stated here.
Third-Party Works and Fan Art
Some Backdrops are fan-made works that depict characters, settings, or other elements owned by third parties. Tide is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any rights holder, and no Backdrop in the app should be understood as official or licensed merchandise. All trademarks and copyrights remain the property of their respective owners.
We remove infringing material when we receive a valid notice, and we also remove fan works during review where we believe they infringe, without waiting for a complaint.
